For the past 15 years, Johnny Archer has dominated the world of professional pool. Breaking into the pro ranks at the age of seventeen, Johnny consistently raised the level of his game to the point where he won his first world championship in 1992. To this day, that first championship still stands out to him as one of the most memorable experiences of his career. The only eclipse of this accomplishment came 7 years later when Johnny took first place at the 1999 US Open. Beyond bringing vast amounts of tournament winnings back to his home in Atlanta, Georgia, Johnny Archer carries with him a Player of the Decade and numerous Player of the Year titles. Johnny’s stoic approach and intense desire to finish in first place drive his passion, and have kept him in the spotlight all these years.

Johnny began his life in Twin City, Georgia, where he grew up with his two brothers and two sisters. While Johnny took to the game of pool at the age of 12, the rest of his family prefers to watch his amazing prowess. However, Johnny isn’t just a one-sport man; “The Scorpion” enjoys refining his skills at everything from golf and tennis to basketball and bowling. While he is an accomplished competitor in numerous sports, his heart will always lie with the game of 9-ball. As Johnny puts it, "You never know what's going to happen next."

After years of successful play in both ranking and cash earnings, Johnny married his girlfriend Melanie in August of 2002. Shortly after getting married, Johnny and Melanie became the proud parents of Johnny Lee Archer. Johnny’s tournament history is as impressive as any, and for the past two years he has finished at the top of the billiards mountain as the Billiards Digest Player of the Year. His attitude and commitment to the game have kept him playing at unprecedented levels for the past 20 years.
